Rocket Classic field 2026: 4 top-10 golfers in Detroit PGA Tour event
The final scheduled PGA Tour visit to the Detroit Golf Club is set to host a competitive field for the 2026 Rocket Classic. Officials released the 145-person roster on July 24, highlighting a significant gathering of talent as the tournament runs from July 30 through August 2.
This year’s group includes four golfers currently ranked in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings. Cameron Young, Russell Henley, Chris Gotterup, and 2026 U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark lead the rankings presence. In total, eight players in the top 20 are slated to compete. The tournament also gains additional star power with Brooks Koepka, Xander Schauffele, and Jordan Spieth making their debut appearances in Detroit.
Performance metrics are also a focal point this year, specifically regarding Michael Kim. The 33-year-old recently carded a 59 at the 3M Open, joining an elite group of just 15 players in Tour history to hit that score. His current momentum adds significant interest to the field.
Previous champions are returning in force to defend their history at the venue. Aldrich Potgieter, the 2025 winner, aims to protect his title against a group that includes two-time champion Cam Davis, along with former winners Rickie Fowler and Tony Finau. Davis remains the only two-time victor of the Detroit event, and he will compete against a deep field that includes 10 former major championship winners.
Following the final selection process, which includes four qualifying spots awarded on Monday, the focus shifts to the Detroit Golf Club for the conclusion of this tournament series. Spectators and golf analysts expect a high level of competition given the current rankings of the invitees.
