Noah Maclauchlan wins U.S. Junior Amateur Championship over Miles Russell

Noah Maclauchlan claimed the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship title on Saturday at Saucon Valley. He defeated Miles Russell with a 6 and 5 victory in the first all-left-hander individual final in USGA history. Maclauchlan secured a spot in next year’s U.S. Open at Pebble Beach by winning the tournament.

The 18-year-old Maclauchlan entered the event as the first alternate but took full advantage of his opportunity. He played with confidence throughout the final match, pulling ahead with a series of birdies on the closing holes. His brother, Liam, served as his caddie during the match.

Miles Russell, the highest-ranked player in the field, finished as the runner-up. Both competitors have earned exemptions for the upcoming U.S. Amateur at Merion. This win marks a significant milestone for Maclauchlan before he begins his collegiate career at Liberty University this year.
