Orioles end Red Sox's record-tying 15-game winning streak

The Baltimore Orioles snapped the Boston Red Sox's 15-game winning streak on Wednesday. The streak matched a franchise record set back in 1946 by the team led by Ted Williams.

Boston had been perfect since July 1, clawing their way back into contention after a difficult start to the season. Interim manager Chad Tracy had guided the team to this run, making him the first manager since the 19th century to oversee a winning streak of at least 15 games after taking over mid-season.

The decisive 5-1 victory for Baltimore came in the nightcap of a doubleheader. Kyle Bradish pitched six solid innings for the Orioles, allowing just one run on four hits. The Baltimore offense started fast, putting up four runs in the first inning against Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rivera.

Despite the loss, the atmosphere in the Boston clubhouse remains focused. First baseman Willson Contreras encouraged his teammates to maintain their momentum and pride, noting that the team is in a much better position now than they were at the start of the month. The Red Sox currently hold a 52-49 record as they look toward the remainder of the season.
