Layne Riggs scores dominant win in Craftsman Truck Series race at IRP
Layne Riggs secured another victory at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, reinforcing his position at the front of the 2026 Craftsman Truck Series standings. Driving the No. 34 truck for Front Row Motorsports, Riggs maintained control for 198 of the scheduled laps. This performance marks his fifth win of the season and increases his lead over Kaden Honeycutt to 99 points.
The race saw a competitive field navigating the short track. Connor Mosack claimed the runner-up spot, marking a career-high finish. Ty Majeski, Chandler Smith, and Nick Sanchez rounded out the top five positions. Chandler Smith, alongside Christian Eckes and Gio Ruggiero, officially clinched spots in The Chase based on their results during this event.
Track conditions remained steady throughout the evening, with only one caution flag waving on lap 138. An incident involving Landen Lewis and Daniel Hemric triggered a brief red flag period of less than eight minutes before racing resumed. Post-race technical inspections confirmed the results, leaving the current standings unchanged as teams prepare for the final two races before the playoff format begins.
The series now heads to Richmond Raceway on August 14. With the playoff field beginning to solidify, competitors are under pressure to secure remaining positions before the postseason begins.
