NASCAR fans will have to wait for the next green flag. The entire national series is taking this weekend off. There are no Cup Series, O'Reilly Auto Parts, or Truck Series events scheduled until next week.
This break comes right before the final push of the regular season. Once the schedule resumes, the Cup Series enters a sprint to the finish line with 14 races in 14 consecutive weeks. The regular season concludes in August before the Chase begins next month.
Racing returns on August 9 with the Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway. This race marks a shift in broadcasting as USA Network begins its coverage. Ten of the final 14 races will appear on USA, with NBC handling the Daytona regular-season finale and the final three Chase races.
Corey Heim remains a focal point after his win at the Brickyard 400. He held off Christopher Bell and Joey Logano to secure his second victory of the year. Heim earned the win during a late restart, successfully defending his lead against Denny Hamlin.
Four races remain in the regular season, all occurring throughout August. These events will decide the final standings before the postseason bracket is finalized.
