Craftsman Truck Series set for 2027 return to St. Petersburg

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will return to St. Petersburg, Florida, for the 2027 season. Race officials confirmed the event is set for Saturday, March 6. The race shares the weekend schedule with the NTT IndyCar Series Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, which takes place the following day.

This marks a repeat appearance on the 1.8-mile temporary street circuit following the series debut at the location earlier this year. Layne Riggs won the inaugural street race in February 2026. Drivers and officials pointed to strong attendance and positive fan feedback as key reasons for the decision to bring the trucks back to the marina course.

Green Savoree Racing Promotions announced the date on Thursday morning. While this is one of the first confirmed events for the 2027 national schedule, the rest of the calendar remains under development. Organizers indicated that ticket sales will begin later this autumn.

Kim Green, the CEO of Green Savoree, noted that the 2026 event set a record for their team in terms of quality and crowd engagement. The combined race weekend allows fans to see both the truck series and IndyCar competition in one location. This announcement secures a high-profile spot for the truck series early in the 2027 season.
