NASCAR Cup Series Driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Enjoyed His First Visit to Portland, Maine

NASCAR Cup Series driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. spent Tuesday exploring Portland, Maine, ahead of his upcoming race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The 2023 Daytona 500 champion visited local landmarks to experience the regional culture before competing in the Dollar Tree 301 on August 23.

Stenhouse Jr. started his day at Luke’s Lobster Portland Pier. He learned the process behind a traditional New England lobster roll, including a tour of the holding facilities and boat receiving areas. Following his lunch, he joined Captain Tom Martin on a Lucky Catch Cruise. This trip allowed him to experience the practical side of the industry, as he hauled traps and banded lobster claws while on the water.

The visit included a stop at The Holy Donut to learn how to prepare the shop's signature potato-based pastries. Stenhouse Jr. participated in the full production cycle, from rolling and cutting dough to glazing the finished product. He concluded the trip with a walk through Fort Williams Park to view the Portland Head Light before heading back to the airport.

These activities precede his return to New England for the race weekend at the track known as The Magic Mile. The event schedule includes practice sessions, qualifying rounds, and multiple series races culminating in the Sunday main event.
