Bulls Notes: Swain, Wilson, Essengue, Sellers
The Chicago Bulls Summer League roster provided a mixed bag of results for their young core in Las Vegas. First-round selection Dailyn Swain faced significant challenges during his debut, averaging 4.3 points while shooting 12.9% from the field. Swain acknowledged that he struggled with overthinking his role as a primary initiator but noted the support he received from veteran teammates helped him maintain a positive perspective on the development process.
In contrast, No. 4 overall pick Caleb Wilson showcased his scoring potential despite issues with turnovers and free throw efficiency. Wilson averaged 23.5 points per game and hit 41.9% of his shots from beyond the arc. He emphasized his commitment to playing through discomfort and learning from the physical nature of professional competition, stating that he intends to maximize every opportunity on the court.
Other roster members experienced varying degrees of success during the summer session. Noa Essengue demonstrated defensive capabilities but struggled to find a consistent rhythm on the offensive side of the ball. Meanwhile, two-way guard Jaylin Sellers displayed a willingness to shoot the ball, though his transition to a lower-usage role remains a point of emphasis for his long-term growth. The organization continues to evaluate these prospects as they integrate into the larger team structure for the upcoming season.
