In a recent podcast discussion, Green noted that he believes the history between James and the Warriors served as a significant barrier. Green pointed to the rivalry between the two teams during the NBA Finals series in the mid-2010s as a primary factor in the decision.

Green observed that James faced heavy scrutiny for his previous moves, and a transition to a team he battled so intensely would likely bring more of that public pressure. Despite the dream of seeing Curry and James share the court, the personal and professional stakes proved too high for such a pairing to materialize.

This upcoming season carries weight for the Warriors roster. Both Green and Curry are approaching free agency next year, and Jimmy Butler is also set to hit the open market.
