The Arkansas men’s basketball team opened its summer exhibition series in the Bahamas with a decisive 106-59 victory over the Bahamas national team at the BahaMar Convention Center. Associate head coach Kenny Payne led the bench during the game, while head coach John Calipari watched the action from the stands to evaluate his team.
Arkansas dictated the pace of the game through heavy defensive pressure. The Razorbacks forced 26 turnovers and converted them into 37 points. Billy Richmond, the lone returner from last season, added 16 points and 6 assists. Freshman Davion Thompson also provided a scoring spark with back-to-back three-pointers during the second half.
While the outcome was one-sided, the team faced a moment of concern when transfer Jeremiah Wilkinson hit his head after an awkward fall. Coaches confirmed he was in good spirits following the game. The team continues its exhibition schedule on Saturday against Carleton University. This trip serves as an initial look at the roster, including the performance of five-star freshmen like Toure and the depth of the 10-man rotation used throughout the contest.
