The Arkansas Razorbacks men's basketball team opened their Baha Mar Summer League trip with a dominant performance in Nassau, defeating the Bahamas Select team 106-59 on Friday night. The Razorbacks set the tone early with a 10-0 run to start the game and held a commanding 50-19 lead by halftime.
Defense defined the victory, as Arkansas forced turnovers and protected the rim throughout the game. The team recorded 19 steals and 13 blocked shots, preventing the Bahamas squad from finding any rhythm. Maper Maker anchored the defensive effort with five steals and five blocks. Arkansas held their opponents to 24.2 percent shooting in the first half while successfully converting fast-break opportunities into 13 total dunks.
Individual production was balanced across the roster. Jordan Smith Jr. paced the scoring with 22 points and six assists. Abdou Toure contributed a double-double, finishing with 16 points and 10 rebounds in his debut. Davion Thompson added 17 points, while Billy Richmond III and JJ Andrews each scored 16.
Arkansas maintained high efficiency on the offensive end with 23 assists on 41 made field goals and only 10 turnovers. The win moves the program to 17-2 in summer foreign tours dating back to 1983. The team will look to keep the momentum going when they face Carleton University from Canada on Saturday evening.
