Former BYU Cougars standout Curtis Brown and his wife, Kim, are mourning the loss of their two-year-old son, Haze, who passed away following a drowning accident on July 26. The incident occurred at the family's residence in Clovis, California. According to local law enforcement, first responders arrived at the home to provide medical assistance, but attempts to save the toddler were unsuccessful.

A GoFundMe campaign established by a family friend has already raised over $77,000 to assist the family with funeral expenses and associated costs. The fundraiser serves as a point of support for a family dealing with an unimaginable personal loss.

Clovis Police Department officials reiterated the critical importance of water safety for young children, reminding the public that constant adult supervision is necessary. They also highlighted the value of learning CPR and keeping rescue equipment accessible near pools.

Curtis Brown enjoyed a successful tenure at BYU, playing for the team from 2002 to 2006. He established himself as a dominant presence on the field, leading the Mountain West Conference in rushing touchdowns during his active years. His collegiate career included over 3,000 rushing yards and a school record at the time. After his time in Provo, he moved to the professional level as an undrafted free agent.
