The college football community is mourning the loss of Levi Wyatt. The former Jackson State and McNeese State cornerback passed away at age 23 following a car crash in Mississippi over the weekend.
Authorities reported that the incident occurred just after midnight on Saturday. Officials stated that a vehicle struck a utility pole in Jackson, and the Hinds County coroner confirmed Wyatt was one of the individuals who died at the scene.
Wyatt was a talented athlete who earned recognition as a 2024 Preseason All-Southland Conference selection. During his final season with the Tigers, he recorded 12 tackles and four pass breakups. He left a clear mark on his teammates and coaches during his time in the program.
Jackson State officials released a statement highlighting the bond shared within their football brotherhood. They noted that his memory remains within the program and asked for prayers for his family and friends.
