Arizona Cardinals offensive lineman Isaiah Adams is set to report to training camp this Wednesday despite facing active firearm-related charges in Canada. Authorities in the Durham region of Ontario have charged Adams with multiple weapons offenses, including possession of a restricted firearm and possession of a prohibited device.
Adams turned himself in to local law enforcement on Sunday before returning to Arizona. The investigation, led by a specialized Guns and Gangs Unit, originated from a broader case that involved the discovery of over three kilograms of fentanyl in a vehicle associated with other individuals. While the legal situation remains serious, the offensive lineman’s legal representative has maintained that Adams is innocent of the charges and expects him to be fully cleared of any wrongdoing.
The Cardinals organization released a short statement acknowledging the situation while noting they will refrain from further comment at this stage. Adams was selected by the team in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft and played as a starter for the majority of the previous season. As training camp begins, he faces competition for the right guard position from rookie Chase Bisontis. The team's first scheduled practice of camp takes place on Thursday.
