The Arizona Cardinals and quarterback Jacoby Brissett have agreed to a deal that guarantees $15.5 million for the current season. This reworked contract allows Brissett to reach $21 million total through various incentives. The agreement maintains the original two-year timeline established in 2025, meaning he remains set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year.

Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur confirmed the news and noted that Brissett is expected to begin taking first-team reps starting this Tuesday. The team recently returned to its second block of training camp, and this move provides stability at the quarterback position.

Brissett previously held out during mandatory minicamp in June and limited his participation during the initial days of training camp. The negotiations to reach this financial adjustment occurred over several months. While the team has not officially named him the Week 1 starter against the Los Angeles Chargers, his shift to first-team duties marks a clear step toward that role.

If Brissett takes the field as the starter for the season opener, he will join an exclusive group of quarterbacks who have started Week 1 for four or more different NFL franchises. He finished last season with 3,366 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and eight interceptions across 14 games. The organization now looks toward building on that performance as camp continues.
