Harbaugh on RB Skattebo's flubbed flip: 'At least stick it'
New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh had some straightforward advice for running back Cam Skattebo after a video of the player botching his trademark backflip went viral over the weekend. Harbaugh joked that if Skattebo is going to attempt the move, he needs to land it clean.
The viral clip originated during an appearance at Fanatics Fest on Saturday. The incident caused immediate concern among the Giants fan base given that Skattebo is currently recovering from a right ankle dislocation sustained last October. Skattebo addressed the situation the following day to confirm he is perfectly fine and attributed the fall to the floor conditions at the event.
Skattebo has been working through a careful recovery process. He returned to team practice drills this spring under the instruction to avoid high-risk maneuvers like backflips. Despite those warnings, the running back previously performed a flip after hitting a home run during a charity softball game in May.
Harbaugh expressed confidence regarding the running back’s status for the upcoming season. The head coach noted that Skattebo has trained hard throughout his recovery and remains on track to participate in training camp next month. The team expects him to be ready to contribute when the season begins.
