Former Bills, Steelers cornerback Levi Wallace retires at 31

Levi Wallace has officially announced his retirement from the NFL at the age of 31. His departure marks the end of an eight-year professional career that began in 2018 when he signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent.

Wallace arrived in the league with a reputation as an underdog. He originally joined the Alabama Crimson Tide program as a walk-on in 2014, eventually earning a scholarship and becoming a starter on their national championship team in 2017. That collegiate success helped him secure a roster spot in Buffalo, where he became a consistent starter in the defensive secondary for four seasons.

Following his tenure in Buffalo, Wallace played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he maintained his status as a ball-hawking defensive back. He recorded six interceptions across two seasons in Pittsburgh before moving on. His career concluded after a stint with the Denver Broncos during the 2024 season and time on injured reserve with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Over the course of his 96 career games, Wallace logged 333 tackles, 56 pass deflections, and 12 interceptions. He departs the game having established himself as a reliable defensive presence who carved out a significant career path despite entering the league without the benefit of being drafted.
