Titans to induct former RB Chris Johnson into Ring of Honor
The Tennessee Titans are honoring a franchise legend. Former running back Chris Johnson will be inducted into the team's Ring of Honor during halftime of the 2026 season opener on September 13 at Nissan Stadium.
Johnson spent six seasons in Tennessee from 2008 to 2013. During that period, he surpassed 1,000 rushing yards every single year. His 2009 campaign remains one of the most productive seasons in professional football history. He rushed for 2,006 yards and set a league record with 2,509 yards from scrimmage. This legendary performance earned him the nickname CJ2K and the title of NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
Beyond his record-breaking stats, Johnson left a mark on the organization. Controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk noted that Johnson holds a special place for fans and the franchise. His 7,965 rushing yards and 58 total touchdowns rank him fourth in Titans history.
This recognition follows Johnson's recent announcement regarding his health. The 40-year-old shared that he is currently battling ALS. The former star stated that after processing the initial shock of the diagnosis, he decided to fight.
