Arthur Kaluma signed by Lakers to two-way contract

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed Arthur Kaluma to a two-way contract following his performance in the Las Vegas Summer League. Kaluma averaged 17.3 points per game across seven summer matchups, highlighted by a 34-point performance against the Dallas Mavericks.

Kaluma is no stranger to the organization. He played for the South Bay Lakers during the 2025-26 season, where he logged 40 games and averaged 13.8 points in 24.4 minutes per game. During that stint, he shot 54.9 percent from the field and 37.6 percent from beyond the arc.

This roster move requires the Lakers to waive another player, as the team had previously filled all three of its available two-way spots with Chris Mañon, AK Okereke, and Peter Suder. Suder appears to be the most likely candidate for release, given his lack of participation in the team's recent semifinal contest against the Warriors.

Looking ahead, Kaluma hopes to convert his Summer League momentum into a role with the main rotation. The Lakers currently face a shortage of depth at the forward position, providing a clear path for him to compete for minutes during training camp.
