RELEASE: Blackhawks Agree to Terms With Forward Connor Bedard on Five-Year Contract Extension
The Chicago Blackhawks have finalized a contract extension with forward Connor Bedard. The new agreement covers five years, keeping the 21-year-old skater in Chicago through the 2030-31 season. This deal carries a salary cap hit of $15 million per year, reflecting his status as a central part of the team.
General Manager Kyle Davidson noted that Bedard consistently meets expectations and acts as a standard-setter for the roster. The young forward has quickly evolved into an elite presence on the ice since the team selected him first overall in the 2023 NHL Draft. His impact extends beyond his own scoring output, as he draws attention from defenders and creates opportunities for his teammates during every shift.
During the 2025-26 season, Bedard recorded 30 goals and 45 assists across 69 games. His performance earned him a spot among the league’s most productive players at a young age. He currently holds a total of 203 career points in 219 NHL games. Bedard also carries a history of strong international play, including his tenure with Team Canada at the World Junior Championships where he earned tournament Most Valuable Player honors.
