Devils Sign Forward White | RELEASE
The New Jersey Devils added depth to their roster today by signing free-agent forward Colin White. The team inked the 29-year-old to a one-year, two-way contract. This deal carries a value of $900,000 at the NHL level and $400,000 in the American Hockey League.
General Manager Sunny Mehta and Assistant General Manager Braden Birch finalized the agreement. White joins the organization after spending time with the San Jose Barracuda, where he recorded 48 points during the previous season. His performance in the AHL included 21 goals and 27 assists, marking career-high numbers for him.
White brings extensive professional experience to the organization. He has logged 323 regular-season NHL games since his debut with the Ottawa Senators in 2017. His career includes stints with Florida, Pittsburgh, and Montreal. He also gained significant postseason experience, playing 21 games during Florida's run to the Stanley Cup Final in 2023.
Originally a first-round draft pick in 2015, White developed his game with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program and Boston College. He is a multi-time medalist for the United States, having represented his country at several World Junior Championship tournaments. The team expects his transition to the organization to provide immediate support to the roster.
