Al-Hilal end pursuit of Barcelona winger after sealing Premier League forward for £55 million
Al-Hilal has officially ended its pursuit of Barcelona winger Raphinha. The Saudi club shifted focus after finalizing a deal for West Ham United forward Crysencio Summerville.
This move concludes a transfer saga that had circulated throughout the summer. While Al-Hilal offered a significant financial upgrade compared to his current contract in Catalonia, the 29-year-old Brazilian international remained committed to his position at Barcelona. He consistently signaled his desire to stay with the club to compete in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.
Al-Hilal secured the signing of Summerville for a reported £55 million, with an additional £10 million in performance-related add-ons. By securing their winger, the Saudi club effectively closed the door on their interest in Raphinha. This resolution provides stability for Barcelona as they look toward the upcoming season under the management of Hansi Flick.
