Emma Raducanu will not participate in this year’s US Open. The British number one continues to recover from a stress fracture in her right lower leg. Medical consultations confirmed she is not ready to compete at Flushing Meadows.

This injury occurred during the grass-court season and forced her to withdraw from Wimbledon earlier this summer. Raducanu has faced a difficult physical period over the last year. A foot injury affected her pre-season training, and a separate post-viral illness sidelined her for two and a half months starting in February.

Despite these challenges, there were positive signs earlier this year. She reunited with coach Andrew Richardson and reached a final at Queen's Club in June. This marked her most successful week of play since her victory in New York. However, she has remained off the court since that tournament as she prioritizes long-term health over immediate competition.

The tournament at Flushing Meadows begins on 23 August. Raducanu remains focused on her rehabilitation program as she prepares for a return to professional play.
