Caitlin Clark delivered a historic performance on Friday night, becoming the first player in league history to record 45 points and 10 assists in a single game. The Indiana Fever guard powered her team to a 110-107 victory over the Seattle Storm in front of a home crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Clark capped off her evening by drilling a critical 26-foot shot with under 40 seconds remaining to secure the win.
Her stat line set several benchmarks. Beyond the points and assists, Clark achieved the franchise record for points in a single game for the Fever. She hit six three-pointers, marking her as the fastest player to reach 200 career shots from deep in just 74 games. The effort is especially significant given she managed this output while playing through a back injury that had limited her minutes earlier in the week.
Teammate Kelsey Mitchell also contributed to the high-scoring affair, recording 30 points and marking her ninth straight game with at least 20. The duo is now the first pair of teammates in league history to score 40 and 30 points respectively in the same contest. For the Storm, Dominique Malonga led the effort with 28 points and 14 rebounds in a record-setting points performance for the team in a regulation loss.
Fever coach Stephanie White noted the surreal nature of the performance after the game, stating that Clark produces results not seen before in the league. Clark remains focused on the schedule ahead, as the team prepares for a back-to-back matchup against the Liberty on Saturday.
