The separation will not change the ownership structure of the teams or their parent organization, Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment. Joseph Tsai remains the chairman of the organization and the governor of the Brooklyn Nets. Clara Wu Tsai continues her role as vice chair of the company and governor of the New York Liberty. The teams operate with professional management already in place, and the owners intend to maintain their stewardship of the franchises as they have in previous years.
Since taking full control of the Nets in 2019 and purchasing the Liberty that same year, the Tsais have invested heavily in both organizations. This tenure saw the Liberty move permanently to the Barclays Center and win their first WNBA championship in 2024. The long-term strategy for their business remains focused on continuity, with plans to include their children in the operations of the organization moving forward.
