Apple introduced upgraded versions of its Mac Mini and Mac Studio desktops on Tuesday, marking a pivot toward hardware designed for local artificial intelligence development. The Mac Mini now starts at $899, a $100 increase from its predecessor. It serves as the entry point for the M6-series chips, the first Apple processors manufactured using a 2-nanometer process from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Desktop computers occupy a specific role in Apple's broader product strategy.
