The project focuses on developing new graph minor-embedding algorithms for the Advantage2 system. These updates will integrate directly into D-Wave's open-source Ocean software development kit. By improving how optimization problems map to the Zephyr topology, the company expects to handle larger and more complex computational tasks.
Applications for this technology include logistics, manufacturing, and resource allocation. The work will occur at D-Wave’s Quantum Centre of Engineering Excellence in Burnaby, British Columbia. This effort is part of the Applied Quantum Computing Challenge, which brings together government and industry partners to push commercial quantum adoption.
