Florida Atlantic University’s Executive Education program in the College of Business is introducing a new certificate course focused on quantum computing. This eight-week program, titled Quantum Computing: Business and Sourcing Strategy, aims to help professionals evaluate the role of quantum technology in modern enterprise strategy and decision-making.
The course addresses the gap between complex research and business application. Participants learn how to identify potential use cases, develop sourcing strategies, and create frameworks for the adoption of quantum tools. It is specifically designed for leaders and decision-makers who need to manage the strategic risks and opportunities of emerging tech without requiring a background in quantum physics.
This launch follows the university’s recent milestone as the first in Florida to host an onsite quantum computer. Dean Daniel Gropper noted that the program reflects the growth of high-tech industry in South Florida and the need for leaders to understand how quantum computing alters problem-solving and long-term organizational planning.
Instructors focus on practical applications through case studies and industry examples. By the end of the eight weeks, attendees gain the background necessary to communicate effectively with technology teams and vendors about integrating quantum capabilities. The program prepares professionals to ask pertinent questions about technology investment and governance in a data-driven economy.
