Enschede-based QuiX Quantum has officially entered the Netherlands Top 250 list of fastest-growing companies for 2026. This designation marks a significant milestone for the firm, which has scaled its operations steadily since its founding in 2019. The recognition reflects a broader economic shift as Industrial Tech sectors now represent 14.4 percent of the Netherlands' high-growth businesses, a marked increase from just 2 percent in 2017.
To qualify for this ranking, companies must demonstrate an average annual growth rate of at least 20 percent in turnover or employment. QuiX Quantum achieved these metrics while expanding its development of integrated photonic processors and complete quantum computing systems. The company specializes in silicon nitride technology, designing modular hardware capable of integration with current data center infrastructure. This focus on compatibility has supported their rapid transition from a start-up to a primary industrial entity.
Maarten Overkemping, Head of People and Culture at QuiX Quantum, notes that while the proprietary technology provides a competitive edge, the expansion relies on organizational structure and team development. The firm, which maintains operations in both the Netherlands and Germany, attributes this growth to its international workforce and consistent hiring efforts. Their current operational objective involves scaling internal capabilities to manage the next phase of commercial activity.
The Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship, which produces the annual Top 250 report, highlights the prominence of quantum technology and advanced manufacturing as core drivers of the Dutch economy. QuiX Quantum remains committed to scaling its full-stack approach, aiming to move photonic quantum computing into widespread industrial use. By focusing on both hardware scalability and human capital, the organization secures its position among the most promising firms in Europe.
