Rocket One Expands AI Infrastructure Platform Through Strategic Partnership with Placeve to Advance Defense, Space, and Intelligent Edge Computing
Rocket One is expanding its infrastructure reach through a strategic partnership with Placeve. This collaboration focuses on integrating energy-efficient AI processor technology into defense and space-based hardware. By combining resources, the two companies aim to address the growing demand for high-performance computing in environments that require extreme reliability and power efficiency.
As part of this agreement, Rocket One has made an initial investment in Placeve. The two firms will now begin evaluating Placeve's proprietary Fourier Processing Unit architecture for specific use in autonomous systems and commercial edge computing. This initiative is a core component of Rocket One’s strategy to build a specialized AI platform for government and space markets.
Technical efforts will concentrate on hardware integration, software tuning, and performance improvements in mission-critical conditions. Both companies plan to use these joint engineering initiatives to test their technology in orbital and terrestrial defense environments. This builds upon Rocket One's existing work with nanomagnetic and spintronic computing technologies.
Placeve’s contribution involves its photonic-electronic AI processor technology. This hardware is currently under evaluation by NASA through the Materials International Space Station Experiment program, which provides a testing ground for computers operating in low-Earth orbit. The partnership marks a step toward commercializing these AI solutions for broader defense and industrial applications.
