Amazfit is updating eight of its smartwatch models to improve training tracking and device utility. The update targets the Balance Ultra, Balance 3, T-Rex Ultra 2, T-Rex 3 Pro, T-Rex 3, Cheetah 2 Ultra, Cheetah 2 Pro, and Active 3 Premium, though specific features vary depending on the hardware.
One significant addition is manual swim rests. This change allows swimmers to log recovery breaks as distinct segments instead of merging them with active intervals. The update also introduces a touchscreen lock feature. This keeps accidental taps from interfering with data recording during wet conditions or while wearing gloves, allowing the physical buttons to maintain control over the workout session.
Connected training is also seeing improvements through new FTMS rowing-machine support. Compatible watches can now link directly to rowing equipment to capture power and distance metrics. The update also brings a new athlete defaults setting for certain models, which allows users to configure preferences like GPS accuracy and notification settings before starting a session to save time.
Navigation and ease of use are also part of this release. Users will find improved panning and zooming on route maps during activities. Additionally, the process for setting alarms on the devices is now more straightforward. These changes focus on the requirements of multisport athletes who need reliable data and minimal friction when training.
