More than just notifications: Amazfit smartwatches now interact with iOS
Zepp Health is rolling out a significant update for Amazfit smartwatch users paired with iOS devices. This change shifts the way your wearable handles notifications, moving beyond simple alerts to provide interactive functionality directly from your wrist.
With this update, you can now reply to incoming messages and trigger specific actions without reaching for your phone. A practical example includes security camera notifications, which now display live snapshot previews on the watch screen when motion is detected. This allows for faster responses to household security alerts.
Currently, this functionality is in beta and restricted to specific models including the Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra, Balance Ultra, and Balance 3. Zepp Health intends to expand this capability to the Cheetah 2 Pro, T-Rex 3, T-Rex 3 Pro, Bip Max, and Active 3 Premium in subsequent updates.
Access to this feature is currently limited to the European Union. This rollout follows regulatory requirements set under the Digital Markets Act, which mandates broader platform access for third-party devices. It is not clear when or if these interactive notification features will reach markets outside of the European Union.
