Google officially entered the item tracker market today with the announcement of the Pixel Tag. The device launches in November 2026 at a price point of $29 for a single unit or $99 for a four-pack, matching the cost structure of current industry standards.
The Pixel Tag features an oval stainless steel design and carries an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. It includes a built-in speaker for audio alerts and a dedicated on-device button that allows users to trigger a sound on their paired smartphone. This specific button is a notable hardware feature that distinguishes it from other trackers on the market.
Technical specifications include both Bluetooth and Ultra Wideband technology to support precision finding when an item is nearby. It runs on a replaceable battery rated for one year of usage and works with Android devices operating on version 9 or newer. The device relies on the Find Hub network, which leverages over one billion Android devices to assist in locating lost items.
Privacy remains a key focus for this release. Google implemented cross-platform protections that alert users if an unknown tracker is detected moving with them. This system is the result of a collaboration with Apple, ensuring that notifications function across both Android and iOS ecosystems. The device will be available through the Google Store starting this November.
