Samsung Galaxy Watch 9, Ultra 2 Specs Leak Before Unpacked

Samsung is preparing to launch new hardware at its upcoming Unpacked event, and leaked marketing images provide a clear look at what to expect from the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. The leaks suggest that the Ultra 2 is the primary focus for hardware improvements this year.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 appears to feature a significant battery capacity increase, jumping from 590mAh to 800mAh. This change aims to support longer GPS and LTE usage sessions. Other rumored specifications for the Ultra 2 include a display capable of reaching 5,000 nits of peak brightness and a titanium casing that is 12 percent thinner than the previous model. The device also carries an IP69K rating for enhanced resistance to dust and high-pressure water.

In contrast, the Galaxy Watch 9 looks to be a routine annual update. Marketing materials indicate the device will retain a design similar to the Watch 8, offered in 40mm and 44mm sizes. Internally, Samsung is shifting to the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, which may provide performance gains and efficiency improvements compared to older Exynos chips.
