Fixed broadband rankings present a different picture, with Maldives taking the top spot after a massive infrastructure upgrade. By connecting all inhabited islands to a new international submarine cable system, the country increased its average download speeds from roughly 36 Mbps to over 675 Mbps in just a few months. Singapore continues to maintain its reputation as a major tech hub by holding the second position for fixed broadband.
