Five men are currently in the Mesa County Jail following a coordinated three-day operation that targeted individuals using the internet to solicit children for sexual encounters. The operation took place during the first week of August and involved multiple agencies including the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, the Grand Junction Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of Eric Muesch of Grand Junction, Marlin Alvarez Carcamo of Aspen, Alejandro Vazquez Bonilla of Basalt, Robert Callaway of Grand Junction, and Alex Knoll of Grand Junction. Each individual faces various felony charges related to child solicitation, sexual assault, and internet luring. Bond amounts for the suspects range from $10,000 to $100,000.
Local law enforcement confirmed that this sting was a collaborative effort among the Fruita and Palisade police departments, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the Colorado State Patrol, and the 21st Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
