Spectrum recently completed a significant expansion of its fiber-optic network within Citrus County, Florida. This project brings high-speed Internet, Mobile, TV, and Voice services to more than 8,000 homes and small businesses that previously lacked access to these connections. The expansion is part of a larger national initiative funded by over $7 billion in private investment to build 100,000 miles of new fiber infrastructure.

John Dosher, Area Vice President of Field Operations for Spectrum, highlighted the company's commitment to delivering reliable, gigabit-speed connectivity to unserved areas. Local officials, including Citrus County Commission Chairwoman Diana Finegan, noted that this infrastructure provides a necessary foundation for local economic growth and helps residents access essential online services.

Beyond building the physical network, the company is investing in local digital literacy. Spectrum is donating $15,000 to the United Way of Citrus County to establish a new Digital Learning Lab. The grant aims to provide families and students with the technology and hands-on tools required for modern daily life and financial literacy.

The official presentation for the grant will take place on August 21 at the Citrus High School football stadium during halftime. This initiative serves as a practical example of how infrastructure projects can be coupled with community-focused support to ensure long-term benefits for local populations.
