Wedbush Securities recently updated its outlook on major cloud hyperscalers as these companies continue to spend heavily to lead the artificial intelligence market. Analysts at the firm assigned outperform ratings to both Google and Amazon, citing specific technical advantages and infrastructure depth that position them well for long-term growth.

Google earns the top spot in this analysis because of its full-stack approach. The company combines its wide reach across search, Android, and YouTube with proprietary AI models and custom hardware. Wedbush views this integration as a primary factor that allows Google to monetize its AI investments more effectively than its competitors.

Amazon also received an outperform rating. The firm highlights the performance of Amazon Web Services, where new custom chips like Trainium3 are driving revenue growth. Analysts see additional value in the company's retail margins and other business lines, noting that the AWS re-acceleration story has significant potential to continue.

In contrast, Wedbush maintains a neutral rating on Meta Platforms. While acknowledging the company's valuation, analysts point to a lack of clear returns on the massive capital expenditures Meta is currently undertaking. The report notes that Meta’s AI efforts are heavily tied to advertising improvements, with other potential revenue streams still in early stages of development. For investors weighing the costs of building these AI systems against the eventual profits, the gap between spending and diversified monetization remains the core debate for Meta stock.

This research note covers 21 internet-focused companies. Alongside the major cloud providers, the firm identified companies such as Uber, Reddit, and Xometry as strong picks within their respective market caps, based on product execution and underpriced potential.
