Google is introducing new customization tools for Pixel users in the latest Android 17 QPR2 Beta 3 update. These changes shift the control over device interface colors from rigid presets to a more open model.
To access these features, go to the Wallpaper and style menu on your device and select Colors. You will find a paint palette icon that grants access to a new slider, allowing you to select a specific main accent color for your interface. Previously, users were confined to predetermined options provided by the system.
Beyond the color selection, users can further adjust their theme preferences by tapping the corner pencil icon. This menu offers distinct categories including Neutral, Soft, Bright, and Bold. These settings provide users with granular control over how their accent colors appear across the system UI.
These adjustments were first spotted in testing environments earlier this summer and now appear in this latest beta release. Android 17 QPR2 is currently slated for a stable public launch in December. Pixel owners enrolled in the beta program can test these options now.
