The latest Android 17 QPR2 beta release brings a new level of control to Google Pixel users. With this update, the Quick Settings menu is no longer static. Users can now open their settings and select the pencil icon to access a new Layout tab at the bottom of the screen.
This interface allows for the reordering of primary Quick Settings components. Specifically, users can shift the positions of the brightness bar, the tile grid, and the media player. While these three elements remain mandatory within the layout, their vertical sequence is now entirely user-defined.
There are six distinct configurations available for the shade. Whether you prefer your media controls at the top or your tiles positioned above the brightness slider, the system supports these arrangements without difficulty. This change indicates a move toward more flexible UI management for Pixel hardware.
Android 17 QPR2 is currently in testing, with a public release scheduled for December. The speed at which this feature moved from the initial Android Canary build to the current beta indicates that Google intends to make these customization options a standard part of the upcoming software cycle.
