Apple has launched a new hardware leasing program in the United States. Called Apple Upgrade, the service is now available for customers shopping online, through the Apple Store app, or at physical retail locations. This program allows users to lease a range of devices, including iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac, and iPad, with predictable monthly payments.

Monthly costs start at $17.99 for iPhone, $11.99 for Apple Watch, $24.99 for Mac, and $11.99 for iPad. The terms vary by device category, with 12 and 24-month options for handheld units and 24 or 36-month periods for computers and tablets. Customers can reduce these costs further by trading in their current hardware through the established Apple Trade In process.

Klarna manages the leasing program. The application process occurs online or in-store and provides quick approval decisions. A soft credit check is used for initial enrollment, which ensures no immediate impact on a customer’s credit score. Users who pay their monthly lease obligations via Apple Card are eligible for 3 percent Daily Cash back.

At the end of a lease term, participants have several options. They can return the hardware, purchase it outright, or upgrade to the newest model by entering a new agreement. For those interested in additional protection, AppleCare subscriptions are available to add to the lease. With the rollout of this new service, the older iPhone Upgrade Program and iPhone Payments are now closed to new enrollments in the United States.
