Huawei has officially unveiled the Pura X View, a unique addition to its mobile lineup that breaks away from traditional aspect ratios. This device marks the arrival of the company's first wide-screen smartphone, featuring a 16:9.5 display format. By prioritizing a wider field of view rather than a taller vertical display, the device provides a distinct experience for media consumption and mobile gaming.

Technically, the Pura X View features a 6.39-inch OLED panel with 1.05mm bezels. This configuration results in a 96.1% screen-to-body ratio. Despite the compact footprint, the screen provides 114.27 square centimeters of display area, which Huawei claims surpasses the content capacity of many standard 6.9-inch smartphones. The display supports 6500-nit peak brightness and 2160Hz PWM dimming to ensure visibility and eye comfort.

The hardware design follows the aesthetic established by the Pura X series, featuring a signature rear camera bar and a striped texture on the casing. The phone arrives in four colors: Shadow Red, Linen Grey, Zero White, and Phantom Black. Engineers managed to fit a 7000mAh battery into the 6.68mm thin chassis, keeping the total weight to 201 grams.

Software duties are handled by HarmonyOS 7.0 out of the box, making this one of the first units to run the stable iteration of the operating system. Pre-orders for the device are scheduled to begin on August 28, following its surprise debut at the HarmonyOS Smart Mobility Enjoy G9 electric vehicle launch event.
