OnePlus officially gives up on the US and Europe
OnePlus is officially pulling out of the United States and European markets. The company will stop launching new products in these regions following a shift in global strategy. Parent company Oppo confirmed the exit, noting that OnePlus will no longer maintain a presence in these territories.
For existing customers, support remains a point of interest. Oppo stated that software updates and after-sale service will continue to be provided. However, the company is transitioning current devices from the familiar OxygenOS to Oppo’s ColorOS. Owners will have the option to roll back to the original software, though choosing that path means losing access to future updates.
This decision marks the end of a long period for the brand in Western markets. Reports indicate the company is consolidating its efforts, with plans to limit operations primarily to its home market of China by next year. Meanwhile, other associated brands like Realme are also undergoing structural changes as the group refines its regional focus.
Oppo remains active in Europe, though the OnePlus brand itself is receding. This shift leaves a gap in the competitive Android market, especially for users who previously favored OnePlus for its specific software experience and hardware pricing. Future developments for the brand remain concentrated within its domestic sphere.
