XREAL’s First Budget AR Glasses Go on Sale Internationally, Priced at $300
XREAL is expanding its footprint by bringing its xbx a01+ budget augmented reality glasses to international markets. The hardware is now available in the United States for 300 dollars, with a rollout covering the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and Australia. Retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, and Micro Center carry the device.
This release represents the international expansion of the xbx sub-brand, which first appeared in China this past May. The a01+ model offers a 50-degree field-of-view, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1,600 nits of brightness through its Sony micro-OLED displays. It supports HDR10 and includes native real-time SDR-to-HDR conversion to improve visual fidelity for entertainment and gaming.
At 62 grams, the device prioritizes comfort for long-term use. It is a tethered product that connects to external devices such as mobile phones, laptops, and portable gaming consoles. The absence of standalone processing is a design choice that keeps the weight low and the price point significantly below the company's premium models like the Xreal 1S or the One Pro.
To hit the 300 dollar price target, the company removed specific high-end components found in its flagship lineup. The a01+ does not include camera sensors for spatial tracking, electrochromic dimming, or the branded audio systems found in more expensive units. These changes focus the product on users looking for a large-screen viewing experience for movies and games without the complexity of full-featured spatial computing headsets.
