Jeremy Williams was executed by lethal injection in Alabama on Thursday evening. The state carried out the sentence for the 2021 capital murder of 5-year-old Kamarie Holland after Governor Kay Ivey declined to grant clemency.
The case stems from a December 2021 incident in which Williams paid the child’s mother to abuse the young girl. Court documents indicate Williams subjected the child to methamphetamine and sexual violence before strangling her to death. He left her body under a tarp and recorded the act on his mobile phone.
Governor Ivey issued a statement shortly after the execution, noting that the nature of the crime aligns with Alabama’s death penalty statutes. Attorney General Steve Marshall also addressed the public following the procedure. He confirmed that Williams had confessed to a history of violent offenses against children, including the killing of his own infant daughter in Alaska and the abuse of multiple other minors.
State officials confirmed the time of death as 6:16 p.m. CDT on August 13, 2026. The Alabama Department of Corrections noted that Williams refused several meal trays throughout the day before his final request of cheese pizza. The Alabama Supreme Court had previously authorized the execution in June.
