El-Sayed, who narrowly defeated Rep. Haley Stevens in the Democratic primary, responded by affirming his focus on Jewish safety and condemning antisemitism. He stated his commitment to the safety of the Jewish community is equal to the protection of his own family.
This exchange occurred shortly after El-Sayed secured his primary victory, setting up a November race against former Rep. Mike Rogers. Trump has previously suggested that El-Sayed's nomination serves as an advantage for the Republican ticket.
