Ukrainian forces have launched one of their most significant drone campaigns since the start of the conflict. Military officials report that nearly 800 drones were fired toward Russian territory in a span of forty-eight hours. This operation marks a major escalation in the use of long-range aerial technology designed to reach deep into Russian borders.
While the drone activity targeted regions around Moscow, reports suggest that Russian air defenses intercepted many of the incoming units. Local officials in Moscow confirmed that hundreds of drones were directed toward the capital area. At the same time, industrial zones linked to military supply chains, including a major retail facility, saw fire damage following the strikes.
In a separate development, violence intensified on the ground within Ukraine. A Russian missile strike hit a village in the Kharkiv region, resulting in at least 10 deaths and leaving 17 others wounded. Local authorities confirmed the attack destroyed residential homes, a cafe, and a post office. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the military will provide a response to the destruction caused by these missiles.
International reactions remain focused on the duration of the conflict. Despite the high frequency of strikes, both sides continue to trade long-range fire. Analysts note that progress on the front lines remains slow as drone technology dictates movement. The British government has reaffirmed its ongoing support for Ukraine, maintaining its policy of providing equipment despite threats from Russia regarding the use of such weaponry. As the conflict passes the four-year mark, the intensity of these aerial exchanges shows no immediate signs of stopping.
