Daily Chew is launching a fresh community-centered art program in Morningside. The initiative kicks off on Thursday, August 27, with the Artist Harvest Dinner, providing an early look at the Manna exhibition. Curated by Micaela Elle Art Advisory, the show features original work from Southeast artists Laura Deems, Cameron Wilson Richter, Jordan Patterson, Melanee Brown, and Christa Collins.

The exhibition draws inspiration from the shared South African Jewish heritage of founders Julia Kesler Imerman and Robinson. It examines how food, family, and tradition serve as sustaining forces. Daily Chew has a long history of working with local farmers, and this program extends that support to independent artists building careers throughout the region.

Julia Kesler Imerman notes that the space has always focused on more than just food. Bringing art into the cafe serves as a way to honor the small businesses and artists that make the neighborhood vibrant. It creates another reason for neighbors to gather and engage with local culture. The Manna exhibition will remain on display through late November.

Tables for the launch event are available via Resy. Beyond the art program, the community has several other events on the calendar, including the Champions for Life wheelchair basketball exhibition at the MJCCA on August 30 and various High Holiday preparations at local congregations.
