Frank Gehry–designed Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will open in December

The long-awaited Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is finally set to open its doors to the public this December. Designed by architect Frank Gehry, the museum sits on Saadiyat Island within the city's cultural district. Construction for the site has spanned over a decade, with planning for the structure beginning as far back as 2006.

The building stands as a major addition to the Middle East art scene.
