New art gallery on Main Street features Dartmouth alumni artists

Kyle Timothy Blood, a 1990 graduate of Dartmouth, opened a new commercial art gallery on South Main Street in Hanover. Known as Kyle Timothy Fine Art, the space marks the first commercial gallery to open in the town in twelve years. Located in the Nugget Arcade, the gallery represents a homecoming for Blood, who spent years running an interior design firm and managing a separate gallery in Canada before deciding to establish a permanent presence back in New Hampshire.

The gallery serves as a platform for Dartmouth alumni artists, as well as regional and national talent. Blood drew inspiration for the space from his previous career in media, intending for the location to serve as a quiet break for visitors. He wants people to view the gallery as a destination where they can step away from daily concerns and observe local creative output.

Support for the venture has come from the local alumni network. Blood credited former classmates and connections with helping him organize the business plan and prepare the physical storefront. Current students have also integrated with the gallery, with some serving as assistants to gain professional experience working alongside established artists.

Artists currently featured at the gallery include Henry Isaacs and Ruth Douzinas. Douzinas, who works in clay and fiber, notes that the Upper Valley remains a significant hub for creative work. With price points spanning from under one hundred dollars to thirty thousand dollars, the gallery aims to reach a wide audience of local residents and visitors alike. The establishment is open for those seeking to view or purchase pieces in a central Hanover location.
